Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Creating an account is simple:

  1. Click "Get Started" or "Sign Up" on our homepage
  2. Enter your email, name, and create a password
  3. Accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
  4. Verify your email address
  5. Complete your profile setup

You'll start with a free plan that includes unlimited text chat and 3 minutes of voice/video sessions per month.

What's included in the free plan?

The free plan includes:

  • Unlimited text chat with AI therapist
  • 3 minutes of voice/video sessions per month
  • Basic conversation history
  • Access to all standard features
  • 24/7 availability

You can upgrade anytime to get more voice/video minutes and priority support.

Do I need to download an app?

No app download is required! Pippa chat works directly in your web browser on any device - desktop, tablet, or mobile. Simply visit our website and log in to start your session.

For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.

Using Features

How do I start a voice or video session?

To start a voice or video session:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click the microphone icon (🎤) for voice or camera icon (📹) for video
  3. Allow browser access to your microphone/camera when prompted
  4. Start talking - the AI will respond in real-time

Note: Voice and video sessions count against your monthly minutes. Check your plan limits in Settings.

Can I switch between text, voice, and video?

Yes! You can seamlessly switch between communication modes during a session. The conversation context is preserved across all modes, so you won't lose any progress when switching.

Simply click the icon for your preferred mode (text 💬, voice 🎤, or video 📹) at any time.

How do I view my conversation history?

Your conversation history is automatically saved and can be accessed from your dashboard. Click on "History" in the sidebar to view past conversations. You can search, filter by date, and revisit any previous session.

Premium users get unlimited history storage, while free users have access to the last 30 days.

What if the AI doesn't understand me?

If the AI doesn't understand your message, try:

  • Rephrasing your question or statement
  • Being more specific about what you need
  • Using complete sentences
  • For voice: Speaking clearly and reducing background noise

The AI learns from interactions and will improve its understanding over time. If you consistently have issues, please contact our support team.

Billing & Plans

What are the pricing plans?

We currently offer three plans:

  • Free: £0 / $0 - 5-minute voice conversation, text chat, and a blurred reflection preview
  • Pippa Trial: £1 / $2 one-time unlock for 48-hour full access, including up to 15 hours of voice/video sessions and full features
  • Pippa Monthly: £29.99 / $42 per month with up to 15 hours of voice/video sessions, unlimited text chat, personalised reflections, history, and priority support

Trial auto-converts to Pippa Monthly after 48 hours unless cancelled before renewal.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

To change your plan:

  1. Go to Settings → Plans
  2. Select your new plan
  3. Confirm the change

Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades or cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel anytime with no cancellation fees. Go to Settings and choose cancel subscription. You'll retain access until the end of your paid period, then automatically switch to the Free plan.

Your conversation history and account data will be preserved.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards through Stripe (for example Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, depending on your region). We do not store your payment information on our servers.

Privacy & Security

Is my data secure and private?

Absolutely. We take your privacy very seriously:

  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • We use industry-standard security protocols
  • Your conversations are never shared with third parties
  • We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations
  • You can delete your data at any time

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You have full control over your data. To delete your account:

  1. Go to Settings → Account
  2. Scroll to "Danger Zone"
  3. Click "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm deletion

This will permanently delete all your data, including conversations, profile information, and account history. This action cannot be undone.

Is this a replacement for professional therapy?

No. Pippa chat is designed to complement, not replace, professional mental health services. While our AI provides compassionate support and evidence-based guidance, it's not a substitute for licensed therapy or medical treatment.
